The rum won first place in the premium rums category 4 years in a row at the International Rum Festival 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001. It was the first rum to be included in the International Rum Festival's Hall of Fame.
Matured in a series of casks previously used to store robust American whiskies, delicate sherries and fine Pedro Ximenez wines, Zacapa 23 rum is aged using a complex Solera process.
This process is the secret to our rum's exciting flavorful intricacies and notes of honey, butterscotch, spiced oak and raisined fruit. Best enjoyed neat or with a single, pure ice cube in a luxury rocks glass with a heavy base.
It is named after the 17th-century Welsh privateer of the Caribbean, Sir Henry Morgan.
Once distilled, the clear spirit is aged in oak barrels for up to a year, adding a golden colour and character to the rum before the flavours and spices are added. The brand's taste is achieved through a proprietary recipe, which is blended into the rum mixture at the final stages of production.
